Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
In short: the clinical data you create with Klinote — recordings,
transcripts, reports, consents and signatures — is stored on your
device. We hold no copy of it.
1. Who is responsible
Klinote (the "app") is the controller for the limited processing described here. You can
reach us at lionicex@gmail.com.
2. What is stored on your device
Patient aliases, signed consents, consultation recordings and the transcripts and reports
produced are stored locally on the phone. The app does not upload them to our servers or
back them up to the cloud. If you delete the app or use "Delete all data" in Settings,
that information is gone and cannot be recovered.
3. What leaves the device
To transcribe a consultation and draft the report, the audio is sent securely to an
artificial intelligence provider that processes it on our behalf. The result returns to
the device and we keep neither the audio nor the report. The patient alias, the consent
and the signature are not sent.
4. What we store
Only what is needed to manage the subscription: an anonymous installation identifier, the
plan and its status, and usage in the current period. None of it contains your name, your
email or any patient data.
5. Usage analytics
The app collects usage statistics and technical device data to improve how it works. They
contain no patient data and no text written by you or the patient, and are not used for
advertising.
6. Processors and third parties
| Provider | Purpose |
| OpenAI | Transcription and draft writing |
| Google | Service hosting and usage analytics |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management |
| Apple / Google | Distribution and billing |
We use no advertising and no third-party trackers.
7. Legal basis and your role as a professional
For your patients' data, you are the controller, as the healthcare
professional, and we act as processor for the transcription leg. It is for you to obtain
the patient's consent before recording, comply with the rules applying to you on medical
records and professional secrecy, and safeguard the device.
Our legal basis for subscription data is performance of the contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
8. Retention
- Clinical data: for as long as you keep it on the device.
- Audio and reports on the server: not retained.
- Subscription data: while the subscription is active and for up to 12
months afterwards, for tax and accounting obligations.
9. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability
and objection by writing to lionicex@gmail.com.
You may also complain to your national supervisory authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
10. Minors
The app is aimed at healthcare professionals and is not intended for under-18s.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will announce it in the app before the change takes
effect. The last-updated date appears at the top.
